The programme was attended by the teaching and non-teaching staff of St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam. The session provided participants with valuable information regarding Census 2027 and the Self Enumeration process, enhancing their understanding of the importance of accurate population data in governance, public welfare, and national development.

PROGRAMME DETAILS

The Electoral Literacy Club, in association with the Department of Economics and Centre for Research, St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organised a Census 2027: Self Enumeration Awareness Session for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college on 23 June 2026.

The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about Census 2027 and familiarising the participants with the Self Enumeration process. The session was led by Haris K. M., Deputy Director, Census Directorate, Kerala, who provided valuable insights into the significance of the Census and the importance of accurate demographic data collection.

The resource person explained the Self Enumeration process and highlighted the role of Census data in public welfare, policy formulation, governance, and national development. The session also emphasised the responsibility of citizens in ensuring accurate and reliable population data.

The interactive awareness session enabled the teaching and non-teaching staff to gain a better understanding of the Census process and its relevance to the development of the nation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person, college authorities, organisers, and participants for their valuable support and participation.
