Report on International Yoga Day Programme – “Swasthi: Embracing Wellness Through Yoga”

The Departments of Bharatanatyam, Communicative English, and French of St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam organized an International Yoga Day programme titled “Swasthi: Embracing Wellness Through Yoga.” The event aimed to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through the practice of yoga, in alignment with the values of holistic health and wellness.

The programme was held on 19 June at 2:00 PM in the Centenary Hall of the college. The resource person for the session was Susheela Pai, Artistic Director of Mudra Centre for Dance and a trained yoga practitioner. She conducted an engaging session highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing stress in today’s fast-paced world.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Through demonstrations and interactive activities, participants learned simple yoga practices that can be incorporated into daily life to improve flexibility, concentration, and overall well-being. The programme also emphasized the significance of International Yoga Day and its role in fostering a culture of health and mindfulness.

The event was successfully coordinated by the teacher coordinators and student coordinators, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
