MICROPLASTICS: A MEGA PROBLEM

As a part of National Science Day observation, a talk was held in St Teresa's College of Arts and Science, Ernakulam, on February 26th 2026, about the adverse effects the use of plastic is causing in our daily lives. The talk was led by resource person Prasun Goswami, Associate Professor at SRM University, Andhra Pradesh. The program was conducted from 11 AM to 12 PM under the coordination of the Departments of Zoology and Botany.

The talk started with addressing the biggest factor that is responsible for the decline in the quality of our planet - plastic. Plastic pollution is a serious problem that human beings, as a whole, face today. It is affecting our health, our economy and the environment we live in. Plastic pollution is a leading cause of climate change acceleration.
