An educational visit was conducted to the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), located at Kochi, Kerala. CMFRI functions under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Government of India. Established in 1947, it is a premier institute dedicated to marine fisheries research, mariculture, and sustainable resource management. The visit was organized as part of the Foundation Day celebrations and Open House programme.
The objectives of the visit was, To understand marine fisheries research activities; To gain basic knowledge about marine biodiversity; To learn about aquaculture and mariculture practices; To observe scientific instruments used in marine research and To interact with scientists and researchers.
