The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organized a session titled "Higher Education Opportunities Ahead" for M.Sc. Psychology students on 7th May 2026. The session was led by Ms. Maria Dony, Provisionally Registered Psychologist under AHPRA and PhD student in Australia, who provided comprehensive guidance on higher education pathways in psychology, with a focus on M.Phil and PhD opportunities in both India and Australia. Ms Maria elaborated on the current changes in the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) regulations, the growing importance of NAHPA in psychology and mental health practice, and the licensing and registration procedures required for professional practice in both countries, including the role of AHPRA in Australia. The session also offered detailed insights into M. Clinical Psychology programmes, covering course duration, eligibility, training structure, and career opportunities. Students gained valuable guidance on international education prospects, research pathways, and evolving professional standards in psychology, equipping them to make well-informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
