SEED PAPER PROJECT- "YOU ARE NOT HOLDING JUST A PAPER, YOU ARE HOLDING A PLANT"
23- DECEMBER 2025.
The students of Hindi Sahitya Parishad, Hindi Department, St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam presented a Green initiative under the 'Seed Paper Project' on 23 December 2025. The project was dedicated to the teachers as a Christmas gift, incorporating sensitivity towards nature.
The students created eco-friendly greeting cards from pulp prepared by grinding up old- waste papers. They mixed the seeds of a green leafy vegetable into the cards. This way, the cards weren't just paper, but had the potential to grow into a plant in the future.
The card distribution was inaugurated by the college principal, Dr. Anu Joseph and the Vice principal Sr. Suchitha CSST. Following this, students presented cards to the department heads and the initiative was rolled out throughout the college. The messages, written in Hindi, made the initiative even more meaningful.
This was a comprehensive green initiative that instilled environmental responsibility in the students and conveyed a powerful message of sustainability to the teachers. This program was not only a meaningful step towards environmental protection, but also an excellent example of innovation and social responsibility on the part of the Hindi Department and the Hindi Sahitya Parishadh.
