WORLD HINDI DAY CELEBRATION: SPECIAL TALK

A special lecture was organized by the Hindi Department under the Hindi Sahitya Parishad at St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, on the occasion of World Hindi Day. The programme was held on 9 January 2026 at 10:00 AM in the AV Room, Science Block. The theme of the lecture was “Hindi: A Global Contact Language”. The resource person for the session was Dr. Anish K. N, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, NewDelhi. His lecture provided valuable insights into the role of Hindi as a language of global communication, highlighting its cultural, social, and academic significance in contemporary times.

The event was attended by 49 students, along with faculty members of the college, who actively engaged with the lecture. The programme successfully created awareness about the importance of Hindi in a global context and encouraged participants to appreciate its relevance beyond national boundaries.
