ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON “ART AND LITERATURE: CONTEMPORARY CONTEXTS” ON 26 NOVEMBER 2025
The Department of Hindi and the Hindi sahitya Parishadh of St.Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam organized a one-day seminar on “Art and Literature: Contemporary Contexts” on 26 November 2025. The programme was held in the Seminar Hall of the college and commenced at 9:30 AM. The seminar began with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Remya Krishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi. The inaugural session was marked by the release of the book “Social Media: Adhyatan Drishti” authored by Dr. Shanta Manohar, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi. The book was formally released by Sister Tessa CSST, Director of St. Teresa’s College, who also honoured the distinguished guest of the day.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Achyut Nand Mishra, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. In his lecture he explored the intricate relationship between art and literature in contemporary times, emphasizing how both fields reflect and shape societal changes. His insights provided participants with a deeper understanding of the evolving role of creative expression in modern contexts.
The seminar witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, and literary enthusiasts. The discussions that followed the keynote address were engaging and thought-provoking, encouraging participants to critically analyze the intersections of art, literature, and society. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Santha Manohar, which acknowledged the contributions of the organizers, the resource person, and the participants.
