The Department of English and Centre of Research, in association with the Library Club and Teresian International, organised an international workshop on Thursday, the 9thof February 2023 at 10.30am. The event was held in the college AV Room, where 2 Welsh writers– Mr Niall Griffiths and Ms Megan Angharad Hunter, lead the audience to a deep insight into Welsh Literature. The session aimed at the international dissemination of Welsh Literature. The event was planned, organised and conducted by 1styear Literature undergraduates lead by Twinkle, Mehadiya and Aneeta. The programme was anchored by 1styear Literature student Aaysha, was graced with a prayer song by Anagha, Angitha, Vyshnavi, Bhavana and Thara. Following this was a welcome address by Aneeta who gracefully greeted the attendees and guests. After a short insight into Wales and its profound literary contributions, the stage was held over to Ms Alexandra Buchler, Director of Literacy Across Frontiers. Aided with deep perception of history, Ms Buchler dived into complex and requisite aspects of literature while asserting the need for the predication of national literature. She continued to introduce the authors, who in turn resumed it by enlightening the audience with a short note in their personal life. Mr. Griffiths and Ms. Hunter conveyed their experiences writing their award winning Welsh works. Mentioning several details ranging from process of creation to the connection of the intense themes discussed, they each read a short excerpt from their works. Following this session, the stage was open for discussion where students and the authors engaged in an illuminating question and answer session. The discussion was regarded with characters, process of creation, challenges faced during creation, connection with post colonialism and much more. Upon the close of the interactive session, a vote of thanks was delivered by Anjaly. A few words of gratitude and wishes exchanged by the audience and the guests concluded the event
